Wookey Hole is located in the heart of Somerset, nestled at the edge of the beautiful Mendip Hills and a stone’s throw from the medieval city of Wells. It’s the perfect destination for the February half term as so much of the experience is inside (and underground) that winter weather doesn’t stop the fun.
Your visit will take you on an adventure through eight underground chambers, each with a unique beauty. You’ll also pass the incredible cheese tunnel, home to the delicious Wookey Hole cheese. No nibbling allowed though!
Once you’ve explored the caves you can enjoy a 4D cinema experience before heading into one of the learning zones to find out more about Wookey Hole’s fascinating history or the adventures of the divers who regularly explore the caves underwater. You might even catch a paper-making demonstration in an area dedicated to the main building’s history as a working paper mill.
There is so much else to explore. You can enjoy a vintage penny arcade where you can play the antique machines with real old pennies, challenge your loved one to a round of adventure golf (loser buys the hot chocolate), or wear out the kids in the large soft play zone.
If you visit at a weekend or during school holidays you’ll also get to watch a live performance from the talented Wookey Hole Circus School in the large onsite theatre.
You’ll find Wookey Hole holds a surprise around every corner. You might even get to meet our most famous resident, the Witch of Wookey Hole.
You’ll be given a voucher to enjoy lunch on us in our large family restaurant and you’ll get to finish the day with ice creams from the onsite Ice cream parlour. There’s 26 flavours to choose from.
